Where It Started
Every Bonencia jacket starts with a simple belief: a leather jacket should be built once, and worn for years not replaced every season.
That idea began in mid-2024, not in a boardroom, but with one person and a notebook full of sketches. No big investors, no warehouse full of product lines just a solo entrepreneur who was tired of leather jackets that looked good in photos and fell apart after a few months of real wear. Instead of spreading thin across dozens of categories, we made a decision early on: pick one thing, and get it right. That thing was leather outerwear.
Since then, Bonencia has grown one jacket, one customer, and one honest conversation at a time.
What We Actually Do
We design, source, and ship leather jackets for men and women — nothing else. We didn’t want to be a general clothing store that also happens to sell jackets. We wanted to be the place people think of first when they want a jacket that fits properly, holds its shape, and still looks right five years from now.
Every jacket we make is built around four things:
- Long-term usability — made for daily life, not a single season
- Consistent sizing — seven size options (XS–XXXL), measured against a standardized chart so “Medium” means the same thing every time you order
- Material integrity — leather is checked for finish, flexibility, and how well it ages before it ever reaches the cutting table
- Functional design — details that work in real weather and real routines, not just on a mannequin
How We're Structured
We run direct-to-customer, on purpose. That means no middleman marking up the price between our workshop and your doorstep, and it means we stay involved at every stage material selection, pattern development, stitching, hardware, final inspection — instead of outsourcing quality control to someone else.
It also means when something goes wrong, you’re talking to us, not a call center reading from a script.
Honesty, Even When It's Less Flashy
We’d rather tell you the truth about a 10–12 day delivery window than promise next-day shipping we can’t keep. We’d rather say “this jacket runs slightly large, size down” than let you guess. Our policies — return, refund, shipping, and everything in between are written to be read and understood in one sitting, not buried in legal language designed to be skipped.
